A ‘Miracle’ for children’s causes

OK, so the venue is 1,778 miles — more or less — from New York’s fabled Fifth Avenue, but that doesn’t really matter because Wednesday night’s Miracle on Fifth Avenue is going to be a big city-type happening that will raise money for three nonprofit organizations that help young people.

Organized by Madison Carter and Duo Marketing & PR, the third edition of this multi-faceted fundraiser runs from 6-9 p.m. at Japoix Restaurant & Lounge, 975 Lincoln St. Tickets are $30 pre-sale or $35 at the door.

The money raised will go to:

* Shape Up US, an organization dedicated to preventing obesity. It contributes to building a healthy future for America’s children by improving the health, fitness and overall well-being of youth and their families through awareness, education and action;

* Goodwill Industries of Denver and its career development programs in 27 local high schools. The career development programs are geared toward helping at-risk teens stay in school and graduate with the job and life skills necessary for success in college and the workforce; and

* Educate!, which develops the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs in Uganda by providing two years of world-class leadership and social entrepreneurship training, long-term mentorship and access to capital to help young people turn their ideas into real solutions for combatting poverty, disease and environmental degradation.

Guests at Miracle on Fifth Avenue will be treated to hors d’oeuvres from Japoix and Serendipity Catering; drinks by TY KU Sake, Baroness Wines (including Nexus Wines, Posh and Insatiable) and Soju Vodka; and desserts by Sugar Bakeshop, Continental Room and Lounge, and Confluence Catering.

In addition, there will be music by Sammy T and DJ Dody; a strolling magic show by Brian Dino; holiday shopping with vendors that include Stella & Dot, Dare Boutique and Twirl; a photo booth by Blinks and Winks, and a silent auction.

The shopping vendors will donate 15% to 30% of their proceeds to the three charities; they’ll also receive income from ticket sales and the silent auction.

Orthodontist Anil J. Idiculla is the evening’s Premier Sponsor.

Log into your scheduler and set a meeting date of December 7th at 6:00 p.m. for the 3rd Annual Miracle on Fifth Avenue Cocktail Party. You will be headed for Japoix Restaurant & Lounge to enjoy a wonderful cocktail party with Madison Carter and Partners to benefit local non-profit organizations involving our youth.  The After party starts 10:00 p.m. and continues till 2:00 a.m.

After you get comfortable you will definitely want to try a desert provided by Sugar Bakeshop, Continental Room and Lounge and Confluence Catering. 

The party starts at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. at Japoix Restaurant and Lounge where you will be able to partake in sumptuous hors d'oeuvres from Japoix and Serendipity Catering.  As you are tasting these wonderful morsels you will need to wash them down with a cocktail by TY KU Sake, Baroness Wines (including Nexus Wines, Posh and Insatiable) and Soju Vodka.

While enjoying the delicacies you will be able to browse for those holiday gifts profided by Stella & Dot, Dare Boutique, Twirl, and others with 15-30% of the proceeds going to youth non-profits.  While shopping, stop by the photo booth provided by Blinks and Winks, and enjoy the rest of the evening with music provided by Sammy T and DJ Dody.

A silent auction will commence hosted by the Premiere Sponsor Dr. Anil J. Idiculla,  Orthodontist.
